Launched on October 19, the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) European events season is just gaining momentum and will last until November 10. The venue has traditionally become the King’s Casino complex in Rozvadov (Czech Republic). As of this writing, three of the eleven announced by the organizers of the WSOPE Gold Champion Bracelets have already been raffled off.
The WSOPE2017 Main Event with a buy-in of € 10,350 and a Guaranteed Prize Pool (GPF) of € 5 million is scheduled for November 04-10. However, this year the main event of the tournament, apparently, will not be the largest event of the season in terms of the size of the prize payments to the participants, as the organizers have prepared a pleasant surprise for fans of the game of high stakes: the charity tournament of the extremely popular WSOPE High Roller for One series Drop with a buy-in of € 111,000 and an impressive € 10 million GUF, double the declared GUF of the 2017 WSOPE Main Event. This tournament will take place from 03 to 05 November.
Given the success of this summer’s $ 111,111 buy-in tournament of the same series, which was won by Doug Polk with a WSOPE champion bracelet and a $ 3,686,865 cash prize, the organizers expect the upcoming tournament to attract even more internationally renowned players. in poker, such as Phil Hellmuth, Fedor Holtz, Patrik Antonius, Antonio Esfandiari, Guus Hansen, Liv Boeri, Antanas Guoga, more widely known in poker circles under the pseudonym Tony G.
The upcoming tournament is designed for 111 participants, and if the organizers’ forecasts come true in full, the amount that will subsequently be donated to the One Drop Foundation will exceed one million euros. These funds will be used to purchase and deliver clean drinking water to the people who need it the most on our planet.
The owner of the King’s Casino complex, Leon Tsukernik was among the first players to pre-buy-in to participate in the tournament, however, later, due to the influx of people, he decided to give up his seat to other potential participants, stating that he would take part host, and he will send the refunded buy-in directly to the One Drop Foundation.
In addition to the main event and the High Roller for One Drop, the WSOPE2017 is scheduled to host seven other tournaments that will feature Gold Series Champion Bracelets, as well as a range of side tournaments with available buy-ins that will not be awarded bracelets. For participants who prefer cash games, during the entire period of the tournament, several separate tables will be open around the clock on the territory of the King’s Casino complex, playing at both high and low stakes.
The WSOPE2017 participants have yet to play ten championship bracelets in the series.
